About Alex

Alex Gadd

NOVELIST • MEDIA FOUNDER • PODCAST HOST

Alex Gadd has spent much of his adult life moving between two worlds that do not always seem to have much in common: enterprise software and rock and roll.

Alex holds an MBA from New York University and spent more than twenty-five years in enterprise software sales, account management, and leadership—helping companies and customers navigate complex decisions, changing organizations, and the pressures that come with ambitious goals.

Outside of work, music has always been a constant—as a listener, musician, writer, interviewer, and fan. Those interests eventually led him to found World Highway Media and create The Rock-N-Roll Show Podcast.

Writing The Gristmill

Those different parts of Alex’s life came together in his first novel, The Gristmill.

The novel grew out of questions that had interested him for years: how work shapes identity, what ambition gives us and asks of us, why financial security can be so difficult to define, what happens when the rules of a career change, and how family, friendships, romance, and every other part of a life affect how we think about success.

Rather than writing about business from the outside, Alex drew on decades spent inside the world of enterprise software—the meetings, customers, quotas, reorganizations, personalities, victories, frustrations, and absurdities that become commonplace when you have lived with them long enough.

Music and Media

Alex is the founder and president of World Highway Media, a content company built around the idea that interesting subjects deserve thoughtful conversations.

He created and hosts The Rock-N-Roll Show Podcast, where he talks about music, artists, albums, experiences, and the stories that connect people to the songs they care about.

Alex also plays guitar in bands and writes songs, continuing a relationship with music that began long before it became a focus of his professional or creative work.

Work, Creativity, and What Comes Next

Alex continues to be interested in the same subjects across his writing, media work, and professional life: how and why people make decisions, how organizations shape behavior, and how our priorities change over time.

AlexGadd.com is where those threads come together—fiction, essays, music, conversations, and whatever comes next.
